University professor publishes paper in academic journal examining racism and cultural appropriation in… SpongeBob Squarepants cartoons

The day isn’t even close to being over yet, so we’re not going to go as far as to call this the dumbest thing you’re likely read today, but it’s bound to be near the top of the list:
And the actual title of the professor’s article is “Unsettling SpongeBob and the Legacies of Violence on Bikini Bottom.” You can’t make this stuff up:
A university professor deemed the beloved cartoon “SpongeBob Squarepants” “violent,” “racist,” and “insidious” in a scholarly article.
University of Washington professor Holly Barker published her musings on the yellow sponge cartoon character and his deep-sea pals in an academic journal called The Contemporary Pacific: A Journal of Island Affairs, which features “readable” articles focused on “social, economic, political, ecological, and cultural topics.”
Just… wow.

It’s about time! *Eye roll*
There’s nothing that lefties aren’t willing to try and ruin.
Sometimes I feel ( as reading the article) that I went to a parallel universe which I really dislike and at the same time I’m very much afraid of.
