Donald Trump Jr. has blasted the panel of The View following his explosive debut on the ABC show earlier this week, accusing them of trying to aggressively ‘smear’ his family's name.
Appearing alongside his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, the 41-year-old immediately became embroiled in a number of heated exchanges with The View's panel on Thursday - including his father's on-going impeachment investigation and the infamous leaked Access Hollywood tape in which Trump senior was heard bragging about grabbing women 'by the p****'.
‘You could see very quickly they went aggressive fast. They tried to smear me, to try to besmirch my father and my family’ Trump told The Cats Roundtable on AM 970 in New York on Sunday.
‘You know what? It doesn’t work too well with us. We will actually fight back, unlike a lot of the conservatives out there … You can only go so far before I’ve had enough.’
Donald Trump Jr. has blasted the panel of The View following his explosive debut on the ABC show earlier this week – accusing them of trying to ‘smear’ his family's name and purposely circumventing questions about his new book
Appearing alongside his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, the 41-year-old immediately became embroiled in a number of heated exchanges with The View's panel on Thursday, which involved his father's on-going impeachment investigation and the infamous leaked Access Hollywood tape in which Trump senior was heard bragging about grabbing women 'by the p****'
Led by Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, the panel lambasted President Trump for 'lowering the discourse' to a 'horrible level for this country'.
The confrontation was sparked when Meghan McCain accused the president of 'disrespecting veterans', to which Behar and Goldberg said he also 'called Mexican's rapists' and 'attacked the handicapped'.
Trump Jr. had been appearing on the show as part of a promo tour for his newly released book, Triggered, which he has faulted the hosts for failing to mention the book even once.

‘I say… I’ll do three entire segments on the show, I don’t think it’s too much to ask to expect them to actually talk about the book,’ he said.
But Trump said the hosts themselves were ‘triggered’ when he rebutted questions regarding controversies in his father’s past by pointing out contentious moments certain members of the panel have done in their pasts.
Speaking on The View Thursday, the president’s eldest son said: ‘We've all done things we regret. If we're talking about bringing the discourse down, Joy, you have worn blackface.'
The outburst drew audible gasps from the audience. The accusation came in reference to video of Behar speaking on The View in 2016, where she admitted to dressing up as, what she called, 'a beautiful African woman'.
Trump Jr. followed the blow by leveling an explosive comeback at Whoopi Goldberg, referencing a 2009 Daily Telegraph article, in which the actress was quoted as saying that Roman Polanski hadn't 'committed rape-rape' when he had unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl.
‘They were totally triggered. You could see they lost their minds,’ Trump Jr. reflected Sunday. ‘There is that double-standard in the media. “We’re terrible for this.” Well what about blackface, Joy?’
Donald Trump Jr. accused Joy Behar of wearing blackface during an explosive appearance on The View Thursday morning – an allegation the 77-year-old actress fiercely refuted

Goldberg jumped to Behar's defense, insisting the 22-year View veteran was 'not in blackface. 'Being black, I can recognize blackface. This I can say, okay?'
During Thursday's show, Behar repeatedly denied Trump Jr's accusation, maintaining, 'No I have not - I have not!' in several utterings.
'I did not go in blackface, please', Behar protested.
Goldberg jumped to Behar's defense, insisting the 22-year View veteran was 'not in blackface.'
'Being black, I can recognize blackface. This I can say, okay?,' she thundered over him.
'Now that you've broken this piece of ice, because I guess it is the fight you wanted…are you questioning my character?' she asked.
The president's son responded: 'I'm not questioning your character. I'm talking about, you're questioning my father's character and I say we all have done and said things.'
Trump Jr. said he was only allowed to bring 10 guests with him in the audience for the taping, but he believes the 150-or-so watching on were on his side by the end of the show.
‘We got them to change the tide,’ Trump said.
Trump Jr. also referenced a 2009 Daily Telegraph article, in which Goldberg said that Roman Polanski hadn't 'committed rape-rape', when he had unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl
After his appearance on the show, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted: 'I don't think I've enjoyed an interview this much in my life. Guess you could say that I just #Triggered The View!!!'
He made headlines on the show’s 500th episode when he defended his decision to tweet the name of the now-famous Ukraine whistle-blower at the center of the impeachment investigation against his father.
'I didn't even realize that this thing is some sort of big secret!' he said, sitting alongside Guilfoyle.
The shouting match that ensued included sections of the live studio audience booing loudly, leading co-host Whoopi Goldberg to vent during a commercial break.
'The booing is f***ing us up,' she complained, according to The Hollywood Reporter – which had a journalist in the crowd.
'It's messing with everyone's mic,' Goldberg said. 'You can grimace and all that. All we hear is booing.'
Co-host Sunny Hostin asked Guilfoyle, a former prosecutor, 'Did you advise your boyfriend that it is a federal crime to out a whistle-blower?'
'It's only a federal crime for the IG [Inspector General] to do it,' Trump Jr. shot back. 'That's a lie.'
Meghan McCain called out Donald Trump Jr on his Thursday appearance on The View, confronting him about his father's attacks on Gold Star families, asking 'Does it make you feel good?'. Trump replied: 'I don't think any of that makes me feel good, but I think we got into this because we wanted to do what's right for America'

But he offered a surprise apology to Meghan McCain for his father's contentious relationship with the late Sen. John McCain during his tense appearance on the show.
McCain remained silent for the first part of the segment, but in the second portion of the interview she finally called out Trump for his family's divisive language that has 'hurt a lot of people', particularly Gold Star veterans, citing the Khan family controversy.
In a surprise turn, Trump apologized for his father's antagonistic relationship with Sen. McCain saying: 'I'm sorry about that. They did have differences, I agree with that.'
Before the apology, McCain confronted Trump for his President Donald Trump's attacks on Golf Star families.
'You and your family have hurt a lot of people and put a lot of people through a lot of pain, including the Khan family who was a Gold Star family, who I think should be respected because of the loss of your son. Does all this make you feel good?' a visibly emotional McCain asked.
She referred to the Muslim-American Khan parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan whose son Capt. Humayun Khan died in 2014 while serving in Iraq.
The Khan family appeared at the 2016 Democratic National Convention where they gave a fiery speech criticizing Donald Trump, who was a Republican presidential candidate at the time, calling him out for his proposed ban on migration from a list of majority-Muslim countries.
At the event Khizr Khan, Humayun's father, paid homage to his son and said Trump has sacrificed 'nothing.' Trump fired back saying the soldier's father delivered the entire speech because his mother was not 'allowed' to speak.
Following the public feud in 2016, the late Sen. John McCain spoke out in support of Khan's family and condemned Trump's attacks on him.
Faced with the spotlight, Donald Trump Jr said such comments didn't make him feel 'good' but doubled down in his support of his father.
'I don't think any of that makes me feel good, but I think we got into this because we wanted to do what's right for America,' Trump replied.
'My father has been working tirelessly to bring back the American dream who have watched politicians with no business experience send that American dream abroad to countries that hate our guts,' he added.
Then he continued to rattle on statistics about how the Trump administration has reduced unemployment numbers for minority groups.
