My name is Jacob. Y’all know that, but I absolutely despise being called Jake (I know I’m setting myself up by saying that). I don’t know why, but I hate that Jake is the shortened version of Jacob, and I’d much rather be called Jacob.

So, I absolutely identify with this Tweet from writer Marcus Vance, who then asked if other people have dealt with annoyances around their name. And whether it’s an uncommon name or dealing with frustrating abbreviations, a LOT of people responded to his Tweet.
