Disturbing video has reemerged featuring the famous 12-year-old drag queen Desmond Napoles, a.k.a. “Desmond Is Amazing,” pretending to snort ketamine. Another video featured him being interviewed by convicted killer Michael Alig.
According to Blaire White of The Post Millennial, the clips featuring Desmond were posted to YouTube in July 2018 and December 2017. Though various media outlets, including Red State and National Review, reported on the videos in 2018, the recent report from transgender Blaire White has further amplified the public’s attention toward them. Blaire’s recent video on the subject has since garnered over half a million views.
In the first video, Desmond is shown talking to the camera alongside drag queen Bella Noche while appearing to answer internet user comments during a live-stream. At one point later on, Desmond mimics a snort when Bella Noche mentions the drug ketamine.
“What has this world come to? It’s come to a world where drag kids actually exist,” Desmond flamboyantly tells the camera.
“And people do ketamine on a couch,” Bella Noche suddenly interjects.
Just then, Desmond lifts his wrist up to his nose and sucks in a deep drag of air before smiling in satisfaction.
The second video, which occurred when Desmond was just 10 years old, featured him being interviewed by Michael Alig, who was convicted of first-degree manslaughter in 1997 for the killing of Angel Melendez. The New York Times provided more details of the case:
In his statement to the police, [Robert] Riggs said that Mr. Alig and Mr. Melendez had been fighting and that he had intervened to save Mr. Alig, hitting Mr. Melendez over the head with a hammer and knocking him unconscious. He said that Mr. Alig then throttled Mr. Melendez and poured a detergent into his mouth before wrapping it with duct tape. The two men then dumped Mr. Melendez’s body in their bathtub.”About 5 to 7 days later, Michael and I decided we had to do something about this terrible mess,” Mr. Riggs told the police. ”It was decided that I would go get knives or something to help dispose of the body.”Mr. Riggs said he gave Mr. Alig 10 bags of heroin to chop up the body. The two men put the remains in a box, and Mr. Riggs poured in some baking soda to ”absorb (hopefully) some of the odor.”The two men carried the box out to a yellow cab. The cabby helped tie the box in the trunk and they drove to the West Side Highway around 25th Street, he said.”The taxi drove off, and we threw the box into the river,” he said.
Desmond Napoles has been featured on “Good Morning America” and has largely been embraced by the mainstream LGBT movement, appearing at various drag shows and media events. He allegedly became obsessed with drag culture after watching RuPaul’s “Drag Race” with his mother at the age of two. Identifying as a same-sex attracted “androgynous drag kid,” he allegedly developed an affection for women’s clothing at age six. When his parents showed concern, a therapist told them to let Desmond simply “explore” himself, thus spawning “Desmond Is Amazing.”
In 2019, Desmond’s mother Wendy Napoles claimed that child protective services showed up at her house when video went viral of him sexually dancing in a gay bar.
