It goes without saying that this year's election is like no other. Not only is our country more divisive than most of us can recall, we are also suffering through a pandemic that has changed our day to day lives.
With the rise in new voters (hell yea y'all) and the increase in mail-in ballots, our election system is going to be tested to the max.
Have no fear, Your vote WILL count! We just may need to have a bit of patience.

That said, the media is NOT going to be our friend in the waiting game. They are wanting eyeballs glued to screens anxiously awaiting every new drop of election information.

Surprisingly the big tech companies are taking steps to help alleviate concerns that one or another campaign will preemptively announce a winner.
Twitter has banned all political ads since last year and both Facebook and Google have said they will issue temporary bans on 2020 candidate ads starting Nov. 3rd. across all of their platforms.
Also Google is partnering with the Associated Press to offer legitimate results as they're available across their platforms.

SO WHEN WILL WE FIND OUT THE RESULTS???
Most pundits agree that the Presidential results will be known a day or so after the election, with a good many 'indicator' states having their results finalized by the evening of Nov. 4th.
There's a good chance we'll have an announcement on who our next President is by Thursday-Friday.
Really it's the down ballot results that may take more time. For example in a unique race in my state of Georgia there are 20 candidates in an open election vying for the US Senate seat previously occupied by Johnny Isakson and now held by Governor Brian Kemp's appointee Kelly Loeffler, and that race is likely headed to a run off.
Sorry Georgia folk, looks like it's political season all day every day.
