California realtor is fired after racist video shows him berating a woman outside his home, calling her a 'stupid blue Asian-haired girl'

A recently hired California realtor has been fired after he appeared in a video going on a racist rant at an Asian woman who filmed the wild encounter.

In a Tuesday press release, Beach City Brokers shared that Mike Dalcin was 'terminated immediately' on Friday after they were informed of the video that appeared to be filmed on Feb 10.

Dalcin had just been hired by the company on Feb. 1 and had not been working with any clients at the time of the incident, Beach City Brokers added in their statement.

'We hold all our agents who represent our brokerage firm, Beach City Brokers to high standards of conduct & professionalism,' the firm said in their release.

Beach City Brokers added: 'We do not condone racist comments or conduct in any form and have always demanded a very high standard of integrity & ethics at our brokerage firm.'

The company concluded their release by asserting that they would work to implement 'stricter guidelines' in their hiring practices to 'ensure this does not happen again.'

A woman who identified herself as Em posted the video to Twitter on Feb. 10, sharing that she had been walking in Brentwood at around 5pm when the man later identified as Dalcin came out of his home and started berating her.

'I stopped to look at my phone when this man came out of his home & verbally assaulted me,' Em said in the post, which has now been deleted along with the account, Patch reports.

Footage shows Dalcin accosting the woman while holding two large dogs on their leash. Em can be heard repeatedly telling the man to step back from her but Dalcin, who slurs as he speaks, ignores her and continues pestering her.

At one point, Em asks for assistance from a passerby who does not appear to see the commotion.

'No one's going to pay attention to you, "cause you're dumb, and you're a stupid blue Asian-haired girl,' Dalcin asserts in the video, flashing his middle finger at Em and cursing at her for filming the encounter.

'Are you OK?' she asked. 'I was literally just standing right here.'

Em would later tweet that she reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).

'The officer told me that not wearing a mask is not threatening & deemed it relevant to mention that he "grew up with Japanese people." We are living in a pandemic, in LA where cases are raging, in a country when 2100 hate incidents against Asians have occurred since the pandemic,' she said.

She said before deleting the account: 'I have lived in this city my entire life and have never felt threatened in the way I did today. This man singled me out bc I was an Asian girl walking by myself and took advantage. We need to hold bigots like these accountable.'

A police dispatcher with the LAPD told Patch that they didn't 'show police responding to that location.'
