People have revealed the shocking - and often heartbreaking - reasons they chose to leave their homes and live on the streets.
Writing on the anonymous secret-sharing website Whisper, people from around the world shared their eye-opening stories, including one who chose to be homeless to escape their abusive parents.
Elsewhere, one person admitted they had decided to live on the streets after racking up 'too much debt', while another tragically said they chose to leave their home at the height of their addiction battle.
Others shared more candid reasons, such as saving money to buy an apartment and take their friend on holiday, and doing so simply because they were 'against paying rent'.
