Black Lives Matter has condemned Israel's 'settler colonialism' while declaring 'solidarity with Palestinians' in a statement on Twitter.
The BLM movement said it would 'continue to advocate for Palestinian liberation' as it equated the conflict in Gaza to anti-police protests in the US.
The tweet came as thousands of pro-Palestine protesters gathered across the US and other western countries, calling for a ceasefire in the region.
President Joe Biden reportedly urged Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu to wind down strikes in Gaza on Tuesday amid increasing pressure from the international community.

The movement wrote: 'Black Lives Matter stands in solidarity with Palestinians. We are a movement committed to ending settler colonialism in all forms and will continue to advocate for Palestinian liberation. (always have. And always will be).
Human rights lawyer Brooke Goldstein quickly condemned the statement, tweeting: 'I hope you mean #FreePalestine from Hamas that executed gays, throw political opponents off the roof and uses children as shields,
'But no, you mean stand with the OPPRESSOR of innocent Palestinian Arabs because you don't give a sh*t about them but only use them for partisan gain.'
Singer Joy Villa said the tweet was 'no surprise. Terrorists supporting terrorists.'
The Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign, a pro-Palestinian group calling for an economic boycott of Israel, responded to BLM, thanking them for their support.
'Thank you for your solidarity. From Ferguson to Palestine, our struggles against racism, white supremacy and for a just world are united!', the tweet read.

BLM has long supported BDS and Palestine, according to a FaithWire report.

France has proposed a resolution with the UN Security Council, in coordination with Egypt and Jordan, calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Gaza conflict, the president's office said late Tuesday.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who is in Paris for summits on Africa, agreed on the resolution in a video conference with Jordan's King Abdullah II, the statement said.
'The three countries agreed on three simple elements: The shooting must stop, the time has come for a ceasefire and the UN Security Council must take up the issue,' the Elysee Palace said.
France, which has been calling for a rapid ceasefire for several days, said it supports mediation led by Egypt.
