A young father was dining with his one-year-old son at a popular outdoor restaurant in Miami Beach when a random black male approached them and pointed a gun at his baby.
21-year-old Dustin Wakefield, who lives in Castlerock, CO was on vacation when 22-yr-old Tamarius David approached him, and his son at the La Cerveceria de Barrio on the famous Ocean Drive in Miami with his gun pointed at the baby.
Dustin quickly jumped between his baby boy and the gun but could not stop the evil criminal from shooting him multiple times, as well as another random person who was also dining outside.
From CBS Miami – What happened next could make your stomach turn.
“After the shooting, he was dancing on top of the guy,” said a witness, who didn’t want to be identified.
The witness added he saw three shots fired from about two feet away.
Timothy Burgess said he saw the shooter fire another shot before the killing happened.
“So I’m sitting in the alley, and I see the guy, and he’s like talking. He drops his backpack and pulls a gun out and shoots, and I’m thinking it’s time to go,” he said.
Burgess said he took off.
“I’m like, ‘Hey, this guy’s got a gun.’ And I get over here, and he’s on my, and he’s like chasing me around the car,” Burgess said.
NYP – The gunfire also struck another customer, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Authorities have not released the identity of the second victim.
Police responded to 911 calls about the shooter and found David trying to open a locked door while holding a firearm, CBS Miami reported.
Footage showed David in an alleyway next to the scene, yelling, “I did it. I did it,” the Miami Herald reported.
Officers ordered him to drop the weapon, and he complied, then was taken into custody.
