Michael Irvin Releases Video Of Incident With Accuser In Arizona Marriott Hotel

Michael Irvin and his attorney held a press conference on Tuesday where they released security camera footage from inside a Marriott hotel in Arizona where a female employee claimed that Irvin acted inappropriately toward her by making crude remarks and touching her in an unwanted manner.

Irvin and his attorney said that they filed to have their $100 million lawsuit pulled from a Texas federal court and have it filed in Arizona.

The accusations from the alleged February 5 incident at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown led to Irvin having his scheduled appearances on NFL Network and ESPN canceled during Super Bowl week.

The woman claimed that Irvin had appeared to be drunk and was attempting to flirt with her, asking for her name and telling her his before asking whether she had ever heard of him. She said that she had not.

“Irvin also reached out and touched the Victim’s arm during this conversation without her consent, causing her to step back, becoming visibly uncomfortable,” Marriott attorney Nathan Chapman wrote. “Irvin then asked the Victim whether she knew anything about having a ‘big Black man inside of [her].’ Taken aback by Irvin’s comments, the Victim responded that his comments were inappropriate, and she did not wish to discuss it further.”

“Irvin then attempted to grab the Victim’s hand again and said he was ‘sorry if he brought up bad memories’ for her. The Victim pulled her hand away and tried to back away from Irvin as he continued to move towards her,” the filing continued.

It was at that point that two of the woman’s coworkers reportedly intervened, seeing that she appeared to be uncomfortable. Irvin allegedly joked that “security” had caught on to him when he saw them approaching, and reached out to shake the woman’s hand. When she returned the handshake, Irvin allegedly promised to “find her” again later on that week if she was working.

Irvin completely rejected the woman’s claims that he asked her about having a “big Black man inside of [her].”

“I don’t speak like that,” Irvin said Tuesday. “I’ve never spoken like that. I totally deny saying that. I totally deny saying that.”

Regarding the woman’s comment that he was going to “find her” later in the week, Irvin said, “Like I’m going to hunt her down, kidnap somebody, kill somebody?”

“Come on. Here’s the truth,” he continued. “We used to say when we played football, ‘The eye in the sky don’t tell no lies.’ It’s just the truth. We talk and tell lies. But the eye in the sky don’t tell no lies.”

Irvin’s attorney, Levi McCathern, said that the woman’s accusations were “ridiculous” and that Irvin was a victim of “cancel culture.”

“There is no doubt, this woman was not offended,” McCathern said. “This is not a sexual assault, sexual misconduct, or sexual harassment. This tape is very, very clear.”
