According to Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), President Joe Biden wants to give former President Donald Trump a “death sentence” over the accusations that he mishandled classified documents.
During an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo, Mace criticized the “two-tiered system of justice” where she argues other politicians, including Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former Vice President Mike Pence, are held to different standards than Trump.
“Every time the Oversight Committee has evidence of corruption, bribery, money laundering on the Biden family, they indict Donald Trump,” Mace said. “Joe Biden wants to give Donald Trump a death sentence for documents. He’s facing hundreds of years for mishandling documents, and they want him to die in jail.”
“Most of America sees this for what it is: It’s weaponizing the executive branch to take out your political enemies.”
Mace then referenced Clinton, who she said is “bragging” about the “two-tiered system of justice” and even raising money from it after promoting a “But Her Emails” hat on Twitter. Mace also criticized Biden and Pence for their handling of classified documents.
Mace said the same day the Oversight Committee accessed suspicious activity reports on alleged Biden family corruption, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted Trump. Likewise, she said the same day the committee got access to a 1023 form allegedly showing bribery between the president and his son in Ukraine, Trump was indicted a second time.
“We next need to subpoena more bank records,” Mace said when asked what the Oversight Committee would do about the investigation into President Biden and his family. “I want to go back to Treasury … I want to re-review the suspicious activity reports, and start to connect those dots because what we do know, the layering, the scheme of shell companies — and it said this in the 1023 document we reviewed on Thursday — they made it complicated. They bragged how it would take the U.S. government ten years to follow the money.”
Mace pledged to “get to the bottom” of the investigation — even if it meant referring charges to the Department of Justice. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), another guest on the show, told Bartiromo that she no longer has faith in the DOJ or the FBI based on “how they’re conducting” the investigations.
“We had to literally threaten the head of the FBI with contempt of Congress and even then they gave us a document that was still mostly redacted,” Luna said. “They are accountable to the American people, they are accountable to Congress. … If we don’t do anything, it’s lost. This country is lost.”
