Admiral Rachel Levine, an outspoken proponent of radical leftist gender ideology, has indicated that children can undergo the "wrong puberty."
"What if you're going through the wrong puberty? What if you inside feel that you are female, but" are undergoing "male puberty?" he asked.
Levine, who made the comments during an interview with Juju Chang for ABC News' "Nightline," claimed that "for prepubertal children, there are no medical procedures done." He also described so-called "gender-affirming care" as "medical care," "mental health care," and "suicide prevention care."
Levine, a man who identifies as a woman, serves as the assistant secretary for health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He has claimed to be the "first female four-star officer of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps."
His absurd suggestion that kids can experience the "wrong puberty" raised eyebrows and sparked pushback.
"No one can go through 'the wrong puberty.' Woke bureaucrats are lying to our children and trying to destroy our country. We must fight back," tweeted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is currently running in the GOP presidential primary.
"Why do parents not trust the Biden Administration? Because Richard Levine thinks your child can go through the 'wrong puberty.' This isn't medicine, it's child abuse," tweeted Republican Rep. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina.
"Yes, what if you're going through the wrong puberty? Also, what if you have the wrong liver or the wrong left kneecap? What if you have the wrong eye color? What if you have the wrong DNA? These and many other questions make sense if you're a delusional schizophrenic," conservative commentator Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire tweeted.
"Insane. Nobody can go through the 'wrong' puberty," Libs of TikTok creator Chaya Raichik noted.
