Biden Was MIA For Days, And KJP Clears Up Exactly Nothing In ‘The View’ Appearance

President Joe Biden has not been seen publicly for days, since he abruptly returned to Delaware from Las Vegas and announced he had tested positive for COVID — and anyone who thought that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre might offer some answers, or at least some reassurance that he was all right, was sadly mistaken.

Jean-Pierre made an appearance on Tuesday on ABC’s “The View,” where she repeatedly claimed that Biden was fit to “continue the work” but provided little substance to back that up.

WATCH:

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin questioned Jean-Pierre about Biden’s capabilities, pointing out that many including Senator — and vice presidential nominee — JD Vance (R-OH) had called for the president to resign, arguing that he could not justify remaining in office if his cognitive or physical issues were such that they warranted stepping down from his campaign.

“How do you respond to that?” Griffin asked.

“I think that’s ridiculous,” Jean-Pierre replied. “Seriously.”

There was some laughter from the audience before she continued: “What I will say is, like, the president decided to not run for reelection. That’s it. That’s all he decided on. He wants to continue to do the work — three and a half years of unprecedented, historic work. I think that shows what he’s capable of doing. I think that shows how important his leadership is.”

She went on to tout Biden’s ability to work across the aisle and pass bipartisan measures even at a time when the nation was divided.

“We have so much more work to do and he understands that,” Jean-Pierre added. “He’s going to speak to this in about 24 hours or so, and he’ll lay that out.”

In the days since Biden was diagnosed with COVID, the White House has released periodic statements from the president’s doctor indicating only that he was recovering as expected.

A short time after “The View” aired, Biden made his first appearance in days as he exited a vehicle at Dover Air Force Base and briefly spoke with reporters.
