MSNBC’s Joy Reid Says ‘Humiliation’ Is ‘Part Of The Price’ For Minorities In Trump World

MSNBC host Joy Reid lashed out at minorities supporting former President Donald Trump during a Monday evening appearance, claiming that when they threw their support behind Trump, their “humiliation” was “part of the price” they were signing up to pay.

Reid made the comments during a panel discussion that included fellow MSNBC hosts Jen Psaki and Rachel Maddow, and she argued that a number of those in Trump’s orbit — such as Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and former Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) – were allowing him to humiliate them on a regular basis.

“Part of the price of MAGAdom, particularly if you are a person of color is to take the humiliation, you know? I mean, Nikki Haley was not even invited, she was ostentatiously disinvited from this convention. Yet, she still said, ‘I pledge all my delegates to Trump,’” Reid began.

“Tim Scott humiliated himself daily and then has continued to do so on this stage. I am stunned. And sad for him in the display he just did. But the humiliation of Tim Scott is part of the game and it’s part of the price,” Reid continued. “Marco Rubio has been allowing himself to be humiliated by Donald Trump since he drank the tiny water bottle. Like, he’s never going to stop letting Trump humiliate him.”

Reid went on to suggest that minorities who were close to Trump were not only allowing themselves to be “humiliated” — something that she also claimed Trump enjoyed doing — but that they were allowing Trump to “abuse” their communities as well.

“It’s just, I am sad for the folks who are willing to take this kind of abuse, because it is community-wide abuse. Because it is an abuse of these communities to make people walk the plank knowing none of these people were ever going to be picked,” Reid said.
