WWE legend Hulk Hogan spoke to Americans on the fourth night at the Republican National Convention and said it was time for him to speak up in favor of former President Donald Trump.
On Thursday night, the retired professional wrestler was greeted with chants of “USA, USA” by the delegates as he got ready to talk about the man he called a “hero,” Donald Trump.
Hogan — born Terry Gene Bollea — said that under Trump, America’s “going to get back on track.”
“When I look out and see all the real Americans, I think about how [Trump’s] family was compromised,” Hogan said. “I think about how his business was compromised. But when I think about what happened last week, when they took a shot at my hero and they tried to kill the next President of the United States, enough was enough.”
He then went back to his WWE roots and ripped off his tank top to reveal a red sleeveless top with the message, “Trump-Vance Make America Great Again 2024.”
“As an entertainer, I try to stay out of politics, but after everything that’s happened to our country over the past four years, and everything that happened last weekend, I can no longer stay silent,” Hogan said. “I’m here tonight because I want the world to know that Donald Trump is a real American hero.”
“They’ve thrown everything at Donald Trump,” he added. “All the investigations, the impeachments, the court cases, and he’s still standing and kicking their butts.”
“You know guys, I really, really love this country, and I’ve lived the American Dream,” Hogan continued. “And I want my kids, your kids … to live the American Dream, too. This November, we can save the American Dream for everyone. And Donald Trump is the president who will get the job done.”
Earlier in the day, the wrestling champion spoke to Fox News’ Brett Baierabout how he couldn’t wait to speak to the delegates as he reflected on the assassination attempt against Trump at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed and two others were injured in addition to the former president.
“You know I got tired of remaining silent,” Hogan said. “I sat back and watched the borders collapse. I watched the economy collapse. I watched the price of gas, the price of food, everything do just an upside down flip.”
“And when they took a shot at my hero, Donald Trump, I realized that I couldn’t be silent any more!” he added. “You know I had to step up and be a real American, all these Americans here, Donald Trump.”
“I have a voice, too, and I want everyone to know it’s time to talk, it’s time not to be silent anymore,” Hogan continued.
