‘Impeachable Conduct’: Long-Awaited House GOP Report Finds Biden ‘Defrauded The U.S. To Enrich His Family’

A months-long Republican-led investigation into President Joe Biden’s influence on his family’s business dealings found that the president “engaged in impeachable conduct,” “abused his office,” and “defrauded the United States to enrich his family,” a 292-page Congressional report alleged.

The report, which was released Monday and prepared by the House Oversight Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee, said there is “overwhelming evidence” that Biden took part in his family’s foreign business dealings by using his public office “to enrich his family.” The report further alleged that the Biden family and its associates were paid more than $27 million by foreign individuals or entities since 2014, Fox News reported.

“As Vice President, President Biden actively participated in his conspiracy by, among other things, attending dinners with his family’s foreign business partners and speaking to them by phone, often when being placed on speakerphone by Hunter Biden,” the report states.

It adds, “Foreign money was transmitted to the Biden family through complicated financial transactions. The Biden family laundered funds through intermediate entities and broke up large transactions into numerous smaller transactions.” House Republicans state in their report that in 2014, then-Vice President Biden attended a dinner with Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina. Following the dinner, Baturina wired $3.5 million to Hunter Biden’s firm, Rosemont Seneca Thornton.

As revealed by records on Hunter Biden’s laptop — which was deemed “Russian disinformation” by 51 current and former intelligence officers in 2020 — Biden also met with Hunter’s business associates from Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan while he was vice president in 2015.

“Several witnesses testified that Hunter Biden invoked his father in business dealings with Romanian, Chinese, Kazakhstani, and Ukrainian companies, resulting in millions of dollars flowing to the Biden family,” the report states, adding, “President Biden’s participation in this conspiracy to enrich his family constitutes as impeachable conduct. By monetizing the Vice Presidency for his family’s benefit, he abused his office of public trust, placing the welfare of his family ahead of the welfare of the United States.”

Earlier this year, Hunter Biden confirmed during a deposition to lawmakers on Capitol Hill that his father was the “big guy” in a text message regarding a 10% stake in a 2017 deal with CEFC China Energy. Hunter’s business associate James Gilliar texted, “held by H for the big guy.” Hunter claimed his father was not aware of the deal.

“Remember, again, is that Joe Biden, for the first time in 48 years, is not an elected official and is not seeking office,” Hunter said. “And so James is probably, like, wow, wouldn’t be great if a former vice president could be in our business together?”

In their report, Republicans argued that “not one of these transactions would have occurred, but for Joe Biden’s official position in the United States government.”

“This pattern of conduct ensured his family – who provided no legitimate services – lived a lavish lifestyle,” the report continues. “The evidence uncovered in the Committees’ impeachment inquiry reflects a family selling the ‘Biden brand’ around the world with President Biden – the ‘big guy’ – swooping in to seal the deal on speaker phones or in private dinners. It shows a concerted effort to conceal President Biden’s involvement in the family’s influence peddling scheme.”
