Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said during an interview over the weekend that some of President-elect Donald Trump’s top supporters, who in the past were not Republicans, came together to support him over the issue of free speech.
Jordan made the remarks during a Sunday CNN interview with Dana Bash on “State of the Union” while discussing what actions Trump might take in his second term in office.
“He’s going to secure the border,” Jordan said. “I think he’s going to get rid of this crazy inflation that’s hurting middle-class and working-class families, hurting our economy. I think he’s going to get back to commonsense energy policy. I think he’s going to focus on protecting the First Amendment.”
“I mean, think about this: Did you ever think you would see Donald Trump, Elon Musk, RFK Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard on the same team?” he asked. “They’re on the same team because people — because of the attack on free speech, the attack on the First Amendment. He’s going to focus on those things that the American people elected him to do.”
“It’s no accident that those four people came together,” he added. “All because of the attacks on the First Amendment, on free speech.”
