President-elect Donald Trump filled two important positions of his incoming administration on Friday, elevating two longtime loyalists to key White House roles.
“Steven Cheung and Sergio Gor have been trusted Advisors since my first Presidential Campaign in 2016, and have continued to champion America First principles throughout my First Term, all the way to our Historic Victory in 2024,” Trump said. “I am thrilled to have them join my White House as we, Make America Great Again!”
Trump announced that Cheung “will return to the White House as Assistant to the President and Director of Communications.”
Cheung served as the director of communications for the 2024 Trump campaign and previously served in the Trump White House as Director of Strategic Response.
Trump named Gor, who ran a pro-Trump super PAC and a conservative publishing firm, to serve as Assistant to the President and Director of the Presidential Personnel Office.
Trump official Tim Murtaugh celebrated Cheung’s being selected for communications director.
“@StevenCheung is a Class A communicator and top notch choice for White House communications director,” he posted on X. “No one could defend & promote President Trump, the America First agenda & MAGA principles more ably & aggressively.”
“This is well deserved, and the President will be well served,” he added.
Donald Trump Jr. responded to the news about Gor by posting on X: “Awesome news. Sergio will be great!”
