President Donald Trump sat down with Fox News anchor Bret Baier for an interview that was scheduled to air just ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Super Bowl coverage — but Baier released a teaser clip via X that showed him challenging Trump on his working relationship with billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Baier’s question comes as Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has come under fire — mostly from Democrats and media — over sweeping cuts to things like the Unites States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).
“A clip from my interview with President @realDonaldTrump. The interview airs (in part) today at 3pmET on FOX ahead of the Super Bowl and you can catch the rest of the interview tomorrow on #SpecialReport!” Baier captioned the clip posted on Saturday.

Trump noted that the people had elected him to, among other things, find and eliminate the waste and fraud in the federal government — and touted Musk’s help thus far in making that a reality.
“I don’t know if it’s kickbacks or what’s going on, but … look, I ran on this and the people want me to find it. And I’ve had a great help with Elon Musk, who’s been terrific,” Trump said.
“Bottom line, you say you trust him?” Baier interrupted.
“Trust Elon? He’s not gaining anything. In fact, I wonder how he can devote the time to it. He’s so into it,” Trump replied. “But I told him, do that — and I’m going to tell him very soon, like maybe in 24 hours, to go check the Department of Education. He’s going to find the same thing.”
“Then I’m going to go go to the military. Let’s check the military. We’re going to find billions, hundreds of millions of dollars of fraud and abuse,” the president continued. “And, you know, the people elected me on that.”
