JD Vance Roasts Kamala In Radio Hit: ‘I Would Need The Help Of A Lot Of Alcohol’ To Be Like Her

Vice President JD Vance absolutely roasted his predecessor, former Vice President Kamala Harris, during a radio interview with host Vince Coglianese on Thursday.

When presented with the chance to compare his approach to the vice presidency to what Americans saw from Harris, Vance referenced her penchant for “word salads” and hinted at rumors that the former vice president had been under the influence during public appearances.

“You talked earlier about the role of the vice president and how it’s different with each presidency,” Coglianese began, adding, “How are you doing the job differently than Kamala did it?”

Vance laughed, and then said, “Well, I don’t have, you know, four shots of vodka before every meeting. That’s one way I think Kamala tried to bring herself into the role is these word salads, and I think that I would need the help of a lot of alcohol to answer a question like Kamala Harris answered questions.”

“My sense is, and this is a little bit of guesswork obviously, I don’t talk to Kamala Harris or Joe Biden very often,” Vance said then, pivoting to give a slightly more serious answer. “My sense is that there wasn’t a level of trust between Biden and Harris, and so — she was just less empowered to do her job. And luckily, I’m in a situation where the president trusts me, where if he asks me to do something, he believes it’s going to happen. And obviously we’ll talk about it and check in, but I feel empowered in way that I think a lot of vice presidents haven’t been — but that’s all in the service of accomplishing the president’s vision.”

Vance went on to say that he stopped every day to remind himself that the American people had chosen Trump for a reason, and that for Trump to be successful as a president, “the people around him, starting at the top with the vice president, have to do their jobs well.”

Vance also recalled an awkward situation during the transition when his kids had not been allowed to see the house where they would be living after the inauguration. Noting that he was unsure as to the reason — whether it had to do with staffing or with Harris herself — he said that they had tried to arrange a time for his kids to see the house and it had never happened.
